ORBIS Experiences Sales Increase of 17.6 Percent - Substantial growth rates expected in the fourth quarter
ORBIS AG increased its sales volume to a total of DM 32.9 million (previous year: DM 28 million) in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. This sales performance is equivalent to the growth rate of 17.6 percent compared to the same period of the preceding business year. The increase is primarily the result of the positive development in the firm's Consulting Division, which experienced an above- average growth rate of 26.3 percent to a total of DM 22.3 million (previous year: DM 17.7 million).
As expected,the Solutions Division experienced a slight sales increase of 2.8 percent totaling DM 10.6 million (previous year: DM 10.3 million). The slight increase has to do with the new web-based eCRM-Software iC Solutions which, according to plan, was only launched into the market at the end of September of this fiscal year.
The preparations for the introduction of iC Solutions into the market not only affected the growth of sales but also the company's operating results. After completion of the third quarter, the firm's EBIT totaled - DM 6.75 million (previous year: DM 0.174 million). This is mainly due to increased expenditures for research and development activities as well as the activities involved in launching the iC Solutions software. Due to current development projects with renowned customers we have incurred substantial expenditures which negatively affect our earnings in the reporting period. However, the sales revenues from these contracts cannot be reported until after the projects have been completed. ORBIS expects to complete many of these projects by the end of this year. Since the new CRM software iC Solutions was introduced on the market in September of this year, Orbis has been experiencing strong demand for its CRM products.
The Managing Board at ORBIS is confident that the company will achieve the goals it set at the company's IPO for the 2000 and 2001 business years.
