CENIT AG Systemhaus will be taking over 100 % of the British IT distribution company and service provider, Desktop Engineering. Desktop, which has been present on the English market for over ten years now, complements CENIT's activities in Great Britain ideally. Among other things, Desktop is involved in the application of Web based software tools for knowledge management. Intelligent search robots search any number of sources, such as the Internet for instance, for usable information. This information is then made available as a corporate intranet knowlegdebase.
"Desktop's know-how and customer base will strengthenour market position in the UK decisively. "With a total of two branches, we can cover the whole of Great Britain very well", says Falk Engelmann, spokesman for the board of management at CENIT AG Systemhaus. "In future, not only we will have a significantly broader basis for distributing our products, but first and foremost for expanding our services business." By the end of the year, around 60 employees will be active for CENIT in the UK, achieving revenue of approximately EUR 7 million.
After founding a subsidiary company in Switzerland at the beginning of the year, the present takeover is the next step in CENIT's internationalisation drive.
