Software AG, the leading European vendor of systems software, reports preliminary results for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1999. On the basis of the consolidated preliminary financial data the company has increased revenue to approximately 713 million DM, up 14 percent from previous year. Profit before tax has grown 48 percent year on year to approximately 129 million DM. The pre tax margin has improved to 18 percent (14 percent in 1998).
The fourth quarter 1999 results show a similar trend: revenue has grown some 14 percent year on year to approximately 209 million DM. Profit before tax has increased about 48 percent year on year to approximately 43 million DM.
With these preliminary results, Software AG has exceeded the targets which it had announced at the beginning of 1999. The reported profit is the highest in the history of the company.
