From Pininfarina to eROCKIT: Markus Leder strengthens the management of electric motorcycle manufacturer
Hennigsdorf (BERLIN): eROCKIT, a quickly-growing manufacturer in the electric motorcycle space, announced that Markus Leder joins the company as Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Markus Leder will be responsible for the complete production and quality assurance pipeline of the innovative, pedal-controlled eROCKIT electric motorcycle. Prior to joining eROCKIT, Markus Leder was Head of Engineering at Pininfarina Germany.
“As a passionate motorcyclist, I was immediately enthusiastic about the eROCKIT driving experience, which uses a completely new and unique powertrain technology”, says Leder. “The eROCKIT bike is only the first step in our plans to deliver this highly-innovative and effective technology to the world's markets.”
The eROCKIT is characterized by its unique pedal/electric drive powertrain, which allows the rider to control a vast amount of electrical power, and yet pedal as if on a bike. The human interaction with the bike – called Human Hybrid™ - is unique, fun, and an indescribable riding experience.
With a top speed of 90 km/h (56 mph) and a range of 120 kilometers (75 miles), the eROCKIT has the same dynamics and performance as a motorcycle. The electric two-wheeler is equipped with a highly efficient, brushless permanent magnet synchronous motor (peak power 16kW, continuous power 5kW).

About Markus Leder
Markus Leder (born 1965 in Neumarkt / Oberpfalz) worked as a graduate engineer (University of Stuttgart) during his career for companies such as Gratz Engineering, IVM and Bertrandt. At Faurecia, he took over the program management for the development of the cockpit of the BMW X5, accompanied the start of series production in the USA and as Senior Program Manager, Markus was responsible for DaimlerChrysler projects. At SAS Automotive, he was Vice President Engineering, later head of department at the Chinese electric car manufacturer Thunder Power. As head of development at Pininfarina Germany, he was most recently responsible for moiré than 150 engineers.
