Hellmann: GEODIS becomes new transport partner for France

Osnabrück, 1 July 2020. The globally active full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics will be cooperating with GEODIS, the French market leader in land transport, starting on 1 September 2020. Hellmann and GEODIS, who have already been cooperating successfully in Great Britain since May, are extending their cooperation to Germany and France. Hellmann is thus ending its long-standing cooperation with Heppner and is placing its groupage between Germany and France on a strong and sustainable footing with the new partner.

France is a strategically important market for Hellmann. Last year, the logistics company based in Osnabrück opened its first own sea- and airfreight branch in France near Paris. By choosing a new partner in the land transport sector, Hellmann is now setting the course for further strategic growth. Over the past decades, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has already been able to establish itself on the market as a strong forwarder in France, where it already serves 10 destinations daily. Together with the French market leader GEODIS, which has one of the most powerful networks in France with 110 branches, Hellmann is further expanding its product portfolio by offering new routes and increasing the density of departures, including imports.

"France is the most important export market for Hellmann in the land transport sector, and with this partnership we will be able to consistently expand our strong market position. We have found a very powerful and well-positioned partner in GEODIS with whom we will continue to optimize the services offered to our customers," says Matthias Magnor, Chief Operating Officer Road & Rail, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.

"This partnership positions GEODIS as industry leader in terms of trade between France and Germany. It will offer a unique cross-border grid that will allow our customers to enjoy attractive delivery times between both countries. We have been working successfully with Hellmann in Great Britain for several weeks. With our relationship now firmly established, we look forward to expanding this collaboration," stated Stéphane Cassagne, Executive Vice President of GEODIS Distribution & Express.
