SAS at CeBIT 2004 in Hall 4, Stand D58: Focus Business Intelligence

Heidelberg (ots)
- Business Intelligence in Practice: A Host of Software
     Applications at the SAS Stand
   - SAS demonstrates solutions for corporate governance/financial
intelligence, customer relationship management and IT cost
     management
The motto this year for SAS at CeBIT is "Focus Business
Intelligence": The company will be presenting its current business
intelligence portfolio in Hall 4, Stand D58. Aided by numerous
software demonstrations, the business intelligence provider will be
showing how companies can design efficient processes, introduce
transparency into their financial planning, optimize customer
relationships and much more. This year, SAS is shining the spotlight
on three issues: financial intelligence/corporate governance,
customer relationship management (CRM) and IT cost management.
Demo Stations at SAS CeBIT Stand
Using two CRM applications at its CeBIT stand, SAS shows how
companies can set up efficient and lucrative customer relationships
with the CRM solutions from SAS. Among other issues, they illustrate
campaign management for a large retail organization. Based on real
data, visitors to the stand can see how successful marketing
campaigns are planned, executed and evaluated on the basis of
customer segmentations. Another demonstration reveals how an online
shop's log data can be used to extract customer preferences based on
click behavior. The web content displayed can be adapted as necessary
during the session.
For visitors to the trade fair who are interested in business
intelligence solutions for financial management, SAS will be
presenting a demo that clearly shows how companies can efficiently
shape their financial planning and budgeting processes based on
reliably analyzed financial data. SAS uses data from a recent BARC
study to demonstrate the benefits of a central budgeting solution -
one that reacts particularly quickly to changes in the market while
fully mapping cross-departmental corporate strategies.
A practical real-life example of supplier relationship management,
incorporating the data of a large industrial concern, shows visitors
the workings of supplier relationship management. They can experience
at close hand how companies can ensure efficient and profitable
relationships to their suppliers with an SRM solution from SAS - and
save money in the bargain.
Industry Focus Financial Service Providers
SAS will be presenting banking intelligence solutions specially
tailored to the needs of banks: for risk management, raising customer
profitability, financial and human resources management and
performance management. A further highlight is a solution to fight
money-laundering that supports banks in meeting legal requirements to
prevent it. Using preinstalled data models and techniques, SAS
solutions for banks can be implemented and used productively in no
time - and they come with a rapid return on investment.
Focuses at the SAS CeBIT Stand
Financial Intelligence/Corporate Governance
SAS will debut its solutions for regulatory management at this
year's CeBIT. They ensure companies can meet the raft of new
legislation and regulations - such as Basle II, Sarbanes Oxley,
KonTraG and International Accounting Standards.
IT Cost Management
The IT Cost Management portfolio is also in the SAS spotlight: It
includes solutions that enable transaction costs in heterogeneous IT
environments to be precisely identified and assigned. In this way,
SAS solutions let IT service providers and corporate IT departments
calculate the resources actually used and allocate them to the right
customer or cost center.
Customer Relationship Management
Other SAS highlights include CRM solutions that combine analytical
instruments with operative functions - for example, in campaign
management. These solutions cover the entire CRM cycle, from data
analysis, to campaign planning and execution, right up to success
monitoring.
"We are happy that SAS is once again expanding its CeBIT
involvement and that the world's top-earning business intelligence
provider is presenting such important and current themes here - such
as financial intelligence and regulatory management, subjects that
are very much on executives' minds at present," said Eberhard Roloff,
chief press officer of Deutsche Messe AG, CeBIT's organizer. "This
confirms that CeBIT is the right and most important forum for IT and
business issues. We wish SAS every success at CeBIT."
"We will be presenting solutions at this year's CeBIT that enable
companies to deal with and react to market-induced, organizational
and state-imposed conditions in a targeted manner," explained Jürgen
Fritz, Director Marketing & Strategy at SAS. "For example, corporate
governance: Lawmakers are demanding that companies make their
balances more transparent - SAS creates the possibility to perform
this extra effort while simultaneously giving companies chances to
draw competitive advantages from it."
