Online Timber Exchange ForestNetService.com Will Start at New Year - Break-even Expected in 2003
The PRO DV Software AG (SCN 696780) sets up a separate company to concentrate its growing e-commerce activities. The new PRO DV online GmbH in Dortmund, a 100% subsidiary of the PRO DV Software AG, will focus on the development and operation of B2B trade solutions and Internet platforms. Already next year, the new company is expected to reach a sales volume of approx. DM one million consisting mainly of trading commissions and platform usage fees. PRO DV plans to accomplish the break-even in the year 2003.
The first product to start will be ForestNetService.com at new year. ForestNetService.com will combine the so far strongly fragmented B2B trade of timber and wood products on a single transparent platform. This trade function will be complemented by a section providing diverse but professional information relevant for all areas of forestry. In Germany alone timber and wood products worth approximately DM 40 billion are bought and sold each year. For this new offer PRO DV relies on its excellent connections to the forestry business - connections established among others with the help of the forestry management system PRO FORST.
In the next phase, PRO DV online will further extend its areas of activity in becoming an application service provider hiring out industry-specific ERP solutions of the PRO DV core competencies to small-sized businesses via the Internet. Thereby, the customer's investment cost of will be reduced to a minimum.
