Anahita Neghabat is awarded Young European of the Year 2022
One document
The Austrian Anahita Neghabat, 26, fights right-wing populism with internet memes and thus inspires thousands of young people for political issues. She is awarded Young European of the Year for her digital commitment to democracy.
The presidential election in France showed once again: many young people in Europe feel unrepresented by politics. Dealing with this political frustration in a productive way is not an easy task, but it is possible: the online activist Anahita Neghabat inspires a broad young audience for political issues with satirical memes. For this, she will be honoured as Young European of the Year 2022 on Europe Day on 9 May. We would be happy to arrange an interview with the award winner or jury members.
In our press release you will find further information and quotes.
