Continuing Divisions Boost Sales by 30% to EUR 41.0 Million. Combined Group with Positive EBIT of EUR 2.4 Million, Special Tax-Related Effects. Stuttgart, 29.02.2001 - AC-Service's continuing business divisions closed the financial year 2000 with a 30% increase in sales from EUR 31.6 to EUR 41.0 million. Contributing to this growth were the business divisions IT Outsourcing with external sales revenues of EUR 19.2 million (prior year: EUR 15.0 million) and Human Resource Services with EUR 17.2 million (prior year: EUR 12.5 million). Other operating activities added sales of EUR 4.6 million (prior year: EUR 4.1 million). This sales growth is due primarily to the November 1999 acquisition of payroll-accounting operations, the equity interest in Process Partner AG and to new client projects from the major boost given to establishing SAP services. The continuing operations employed 302 people (full-time equivalents) as of 31 December 2000 (prior year: 255). The discontinued Distribution Solutions division posted sales of EUR 9.8 million in 2000 (9 months of 1999: EUR 15.3 million). This business division's operations were taken over by bäurer AG, Hüfingen, with an economic effective date of 1 October 2000.
Despite major investments totalling EUR 10.4 million (prior year: EUR 9.8 mil- lion), and taking into account the sold division, a positive operating result (EBIT) of EUR 2.4 million (prior year: EUR 2.9 million) was achieved in 2000. Special one-time effects (tax reform, special depreciation) of EUR 2.5 million (prior year: none) involving deferred taxes led to a total tax charge of EUR 2.9 million (prior year: EUR 0.9 million) which exceeded the EUR 2.3 million (prior year: EUR 3.1 million) profit before tax. This is why the company reported a result for the year (IAS) of EUR -0.14 per share (prior year: EUR 0.40). The number of outstanding shares remains unchanged at 5,400,000. The shareholders' equity ratio of 55% (prior year: 60%) to the balance sheet total is high. There are practically no long-term interest-bearing liabilities. AC-Service has set the direction for profitable growth with its focus on high quality IT services with a large proportion of recurring sales.
