Launch of canSERV Call for Service Provision – "Training the Next Generation of Cancer Researchers"
Graz, 17. September 2024: The canSERV consortium is excited to announce the launch of its latest Challenge Call for Service Provision, designed to empower early career researchers by providing free access to cutting-edge cancer research services and training opportunities. This call for proposals aims to support the professional development of the next generation of scientists by offering unique free access to cancer research services and expertise.
Open to PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, junior scientists, and assistant professors worldwide, this call comes with an indicative budget of EUR 500.000. Successful applicants will gain access to state-of-the-art services, enabling them to accelerate their research projects. The call covers the entire oncology discovery pipeline to meet the strategic goals of the EU Cancer Mission. These goals focus on advancing our understanding of cancer, improving prevention and early detection, enhancing diagnosis and treatment and improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
The canSERV consortium brings together 13 leading European Life Science Research Infrastructures, offering more than 400 cancer research services, tools and guidance to accelerate oncology research to foster the entire oncology research pipeline for the benefit of patients across Europe. These services can be accessed through the project’s unique online platform, the Common Access Management System (CAMS), where researchers can request services across a range of specialised fields, including:
- Disease models
- Advanced technologies for personalised oncology
- Biomarkers research development and validation
- New therapeutic solutions
- Accelerated translation into personalised oncology clinical practice
- Open digital research services
- Access to human samples and data
- Clinical trials and design
- Ethical, legal and socio-economic dimensions
- Training.

The overall budget for this Challenge-driven call is 0.5 Mio. EURO.

Submission deadline of the call: 17. December 2024, 2pm CET
Applications will be reviewed by an international, independent, expert review panel.
