Reminder: Press invitation
Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2021
16 and 17 March

Dear member of the media,

Since our first invitation, many high ranking speakers have confirmed their attendance at the 7th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue next week. Among them are John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and Jennifer Granholm, US Secretary of Energy (DoE). Also Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission and the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Heiko Maas, and Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy will give key notes.

For a list of the speakers please follow this link:

Ministers and delegations from over 50 countries will discuss new global challenges ahead of us, in the short run caused by the pandemic and in the long run caused by climate change and growing energy demand. Although worldwide support for the target of reaching climate neutrality by 2050 has increased, this process needs to be accelerated. In overcoming the economic consequences of the COVID-19 crisis lies an opportunity for a “restart” through which the world economy can become greener and more circular. We believe that it has become even more urgent to focus the debate in the coming decade on the path towards climate neutrality.
