In addition, QS assesses the citation frequency of publications, the faculty/student ratio and the proportions of international students and staff.
In the latest issue, TUM has moved up five places to number 50 and is again the best-ranked German university. The top positions in the rankings are held by US universities. In Europe, TUM is one of the only four technical universities in the top 50 along with ETH Zurich, Imperial College London and EPF Lausanne.
TUM also regularly achieves very good results in other international rankings. For example, it ranks sixth in the world in the "Global University Employability Ranking", in which companies rate the quality of graduates.
