Around 300 guests attend high-level conference organised by ERSTE Foundation and IWM
Today, Friday, ERSTE Foundation is hosting the Time To Decide Europe Summit 2022 in cooperation with the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM). Over 20 leading European intellectuals are developing propositions and possible solutions for Europe, the Western Balkan countries, Ukraine and Russia. Around 300 guests are about to experience an innovative debate format on-site in Vienna.
Boris Marte, CEO of ERSTE Foundation: “The exchange involves experts from academia and politics, journalists, artists and activists. These dialogues should result in a future-oriented and value-based contribution to peace solutions that focus on Europe as a whole.” “Since the Russian invasion, European societies have been confronted with numerous challenges. To process them, extensive discussions and politically mature decisions are now essential,” said Misha Glenny, rector of IWM.
Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba, and Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas contributed video messages. This evening, starting at 6 p.m., Stephen Holmes, visiting fellow at IWM, and Maxim Trudolyubov, editor-at-large at Meduza, will discuss future prospects for Russia. Historian and director Marina Davydova will moderate the discussion. The live stream, the programme and the complete list of participants at the podium are available at https://www.erstestiftung.org/en/events/time-to-decide/ (the recordings will be available from 23 May).
