Karlsruhe, 23 August 2007 - The Supervisory Board of asknet AG, a leading provider of outsourcing solutions for global software distribution via the Internet (Electronic Software Distribution - ESD) has appointed a new CEO. On 1 September 2007, Gerald Prior will succeed the company´s present CEO Gerhard Rumpff.
Gerald Prior has 19 years of experience in the software and technology sector, during which he also held executive positions with nova data AG, entory AG and the Softlab Group. Most recently as CEO of entory AG, a former IT subsidiary of Deutsche Börse, he was responsible for the sales operations. After the purchase of entory AG by the Softlab Group, an IT consulting company of the BMW Group, in 2005 Gerald Prior´s area of responsibility included the company´s integration into the Softlab Group. Furthermore, the 43-year-old from Karlsruhe who holds a degree in business mathematics, was in charge of the strategy development of the company.
At asknet AG, Gerald Prior will take over the areas of Strategy, Investments, Sales, Marketing and Corporate Communications from his predecessor.
Gerhard Rumpff who is resigning from his position as the company´s CEO for private reasons, will remain member of the managing board for the time being in order to continue ongoing strategic projects, such as expansion of the business in the North American market.
