IVU Traffic Technologies AG achieved a good result in the second quarter of 2008. However this does not yet compensate for the weakness of the first quarter. The performance figures for the first half-year are negative, but the expectations for the further progress of business are nonetheless good because of the healthy orderbook situation.
In the second quarter of the financial year 2008 revenue exceeded the figure for same quarter in 2007 by EUR 600 000 (+ 8.5%) with about the same gross profit (about EUR 6 million). EBIT (+ EUR 255 000) and the consolidated profit (+ EUR 276 000) for the second quarter were considerably higher; this is due to lower depreciation and other operational expenditures through until the end of the period in question.
However, it has not yet been possible to compensate for the weakness of the first quarter of 2008. The revenue for the first half-year 2008 is about EUR 12.8 million (EUR 13.4 million in 2007) and thus 4% lower than the same period in the previous year and the gross profit (EUR 10.2 million; EUR 11.7 million in 2007) is down by 13%. EBIT is EUR 1.0 million lower, and there is a consolidated loss of EUR 1.0 million.
Nevertheless, IVU Traffic Technologies AG expects that the goals for the financial year 2008 will be achieved. This is because the order-book situation continues to be good: 86% of the planned revenues (EUR 30 million) and 84 % of the gross profit (EUR 25 million) are already covered by existing orders.
