DHL Express beruft Mustafa Tonguç zum Managing Director Deutschland

Bonn, 10. Juli 2023: Seit Anfang Juni hat Mustafa Tonguç die Verantwortung für das Deutschlandgeschäft von DHL Express übernommen. Er folgt damit auf Markus Reckling, der in den Bereichsvorstand Post & Paket Deutschland gewechselt ist. In seiner neuen Position berichtet Mustafa Tonguç an John Pearson, CEO DHL Express.
„Mustafa Tonguç hat in seiner langjährigen Tätigkeit für den Konzern zahlreiche Erfolge erzielt“, so John Pearson. „Dazu gehört in jüngster Zeit in der Türkei die Implementierung einer zeitgemäßen operativen Infrastruktur und die Verbesserung der Servicequalität. Diese wurde mit der Eröffnung eines der technologisch fortschrittlichsten DHL Express Standorte am neuen Flughafen Istanbul in besonderer Weise sichtbar. Außerdem hat das türkische Vertriebsteam dank der Führung von Mustafa Tonguç einen großen kommerziellen Umschwung erreicht, der die Türkei von einer volumenorientierten Denkweise zu einem der profitabelsten Länder in Europa gemacht hat“, erläutert Pearson weiter. „Für DHL Express Deutschland werden seine vielseitige Erfahrung in unterschiedlichen Positionen und sein starker Fokus auf Kunden und Mitarbeitende ein Gewinn sein.“
DHL Express Türkei wurde im Jahr 2023 unter der Leitung von Mustafa Tonguç zum vierten Mal in Folge als „Great Place To Work“ ausgezeichnet. Als Managing Director in Deutschland werden seine Schwerpunkte auf dem in den letzten Jahren bei DHL Express stark vorangetriebenen Ausbau einer modernisierten Infrastruktur sowie dem Mitarbeiterengagement in einem bestmöglichen Arbeitsumfeld liegen. DHL Express Deutschland hat auf Anhieb die Zertifizierung von „Great Place to Work“ geschafft und Platz 5 erreicht.
Mustafa Tonguç begann 1997 seine Karriere innerhalb des Konzerns Deutsche Post DHL Group als Operations Agent im Hub Frankfurt. Seitdem hatte er verschiedene Rollen innerhalb der Organisation Hubs und Gateways inne, inklusive des Hub Leipzig. Im Jahr 2011 wurde er Managing Director Performance and Programs Europe, um die Servicequalität innerhalb der europäischen Express-Organisation weiter zu verbessern. 2014 ging er als Head of Operations in die Türkei, wurde dort dann Head of Sales, bevor er im Mai 2021 die Position als Managing Director Türkei übernahm.

Change from DHL Express Turkey to DHL Express Germany
Bonn, July 10, 2023: Mustafa Tonguç took over responsibility for the German business of DHL Express at the beginning of June. He succeeds Markus Reckling, who has moved to a role in the Divisional Board of Post & Parcel Germany. In his new position, Mustafa Tonguç reports to John Pearson, CEO DHL Express.
“Mustafa Tonguç has achieved a number of successes in his many years with the Group,” said John Pearson. “These include, most recently in Turkey, the implementation of a state-of-the-art operational infrastructure and the improvement of service quality. This has been particularly visible with the opening of one of the most technologically advanced DHL Express sites at the new Istanbul airport. In addition, thanks to Mustafa Tonguç's leadership, the Turkish sales team has achieved a major commercial turnaround, transforming Turkey from a volume-driven mindset to one of the most profitable countries in Europe,” Pearson further explains. “For DHL Express Germany, his diverse experience in different positions and strong focus on customers and employees will be an asset.”
DHL Express Turkey was named a Great Place To Work™ for the fourth consecutive year in 2023 under Mustafa Tonguç's leadership. As Managing Director in Germany, his focus will be on the expansion of a modernized infrastructure, which has been a major focus at DHL Express in recent years, as well as employee engagement in the best possible working environment. DHL Express Germany achieved certification from Great Place to Work™ at the first attempt and reached 5th place.
Mustafa Tonguç started his career in Deutsche Post DHL Group in 1997 as an Operations Agent in the Frankfurt Hub. Since then, he has held various roles within the Hubs and Gateways organization, including the Leipzig Hub. In 2011, he became Managing Director Performance and Programs Europe to further improve service quality within the European Express organization. In 2014, he moved to Turkey as Head of Operations, then became Head of Sales before taking on the position as Managing Director Turkey in May 2021.
