Dr. Herbert Kloiber wird mit dem Directorate Award der Academy of Television Arts & Sciences ausgezeichnet

Anlässlich der diesjährigen Fernsehmesse MIP TV in Cannes, die am Freitag, 2. April 2004 zu Ende ging, gab der Präsident der International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Bruce Paisner, bekannt, dass Dr. Herbert G. Kloiber mit dem Directorate Award für sein langjähriges und außerordentlich erfolgreiches Engagement im internationalen Medienbereich geehrt wird. Die Preisverleihung wird am 22. November 2004 anlässlich der International Emmy Awards Gala in New York stattfinden. Frühere Preisträger waren Ted Turner, Akio Morita (Gründer und CEO von Sony Corp.), Silvio Berlusconi, André Rousselet (Gründer von Canal Plus), sowie Prof. Dieter Stolte. Im Jahre 2003 erhielt diesen Preis Greg Dyke, der bis Ende vergangenen Jahres General Director der BBC war.

International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announces Special Award Recipients for the 32nd International Emmy Awards Herbert Kloiber, MTV International and Len Mauger
March 29, 2004 Cannes, France at MIPTV: The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today the recipients of three special awards which will be presented at the 32nd International Emmy Awards on November 22, 2004 in New York City.
- Herbert Kloiber, Managing Director, Tele-München Group will receive the International Emmy Directorate Award. - MTV International, will receive the International Emmy Founders Award for revolutionizing music on television and supporting the fight against HIV/AIDS around the world. Bill Roedy, President of MTV Networks International will accept the award on behalf of MTV. - Len Mauger, Veteran Australian Channel Nine broadcaster, will receive the Ted Cott Award.
The International Emmy Directorate Award will be presented to Herbert Kloiber and is given to organizations or individuals in management, administration, engineering, news, programming, and/or international relations for their outstanding contributions, over a period of time, to the arts and sciences of international television. Previous winners of this distinguished award include, among others, Greg Dkye, Akio Morita, Gustavo Cisneros, Silvio Berlusconi, Dr. Frank Stanton and Ted Turner.
Dr. Herbert Kloiber is Chairman and majority shareholder of Tele-München Group (TMG). He acquired TMG in 1977 and expanded the company's initial production operation into distribution, channel operation, and theatrical, video, and television distribution, controlling rights for the second largest television program and film library in Germany. In 1989, Dr. Kloiber sold 50 percent of TMG to Capital Cities/ABC. Prior to TMG, Dr. Kloiber worked in various capacities at Beta/Taurus from 1970 - 1976. In 1974, he was named Managing Director of Unitel, the film and television production division, which specialized in the production of opera, concert, and ballet films. Dr. Kloiber is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Bavarian Film Funding Organization and the Advisory Board of Hypo Vereinsbank, Germany's second largest bank. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Scandinavian Broadcasting Systems, RTL II and ATV.
