Graz/Vienna, 6 May 2009. ANDRITZ HYDRO received an order from Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (HPPCL) to equip the Sawra Kuddu hydropower station. The order value is approximately 28 MEUR; start-up is scheduled for mid-2012.
The scope of supply includes design, supply, installation, and commissioning of three 37 MW turbine generator units, auxiliaries, generator transformers, 245 kV gas-insulated switchgear, high-voltage cable, and electrical power plant equipment.
Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation is a new joint venture of the Government of Himachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB). ANDRITZ HYDRO has successfully completed several hydropower projects for HPSEB. Sawra Kuddu is the first hydropower plant realized by HPPCL.
This contract again underlines ANDRITZ HYDRO´s excellent market position in the fast-growing Indian hydropower sector. ANDRITZ HYDRO has been active in this market for more than 100 years and has equipped over 150 hydropower plants totalling more than 11,000 MW.
