Europe's largest daily newspaper moves to New York for the 10th anniversary of "9/11"

For the first time in its history Europe's largest daily newspaper, BILD, is not being produced in Berlin - but in New York. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11, 2011, the editor-in-chief, photographers, design editors and reporters move into production rooms situated in the heart of Manhattan. From there they are developing their research and designing the issue about September 11, 2011, which will be published on Monday, September 12, 2011.
Besides the daily reporting on the ceremonies on Ground Zero the "9/11"-BILD newspaper from New York is concentrating on the victims, the survivors and the heroes of September 11, 2001. Prominent witnesses of the time from the USA and Germany - from sportsmen to terrorism experts - analyse the outstanding consequences of the terror attacks of "9/11", which have just returned to the centre of public interest once more following the death of Osama bin Laden. BILD.de, BILD's online portal, is supplementing this unique BILD- project with comprehensive reporting using the most up-to-date digital media.
Kai Diekmann, Editor-in-Chief BILD: "'9/11' is the most significant date of our time; the staggering events caused on this day have their effect right up to the present. Ten years later we are facing the challenge of making the significance of September 11 tangible to the liberal community of values and the transatlantic relationships with a special edition."
