The new podcast series, entitled “Leading Corporate Transformation, The WHU Podcast powered by PwC”, is the latest project of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in cooperation with PwC and features inspiring discussions on the topic of corporate transformation from a variety of C-Level perspectives. CEOs and CFOs from some of Europe’s largest corporations share stories of their experiences. The first episode of the monthly series went online on 7 May 2021.

New Podcast Series Features High-Caliber Experts in Corporate Transformation

A podcast series is being launched as part of the WHU Campus for Corporate Transformation (WHU CCT) conference series on the topic of “Leading Corporate Transformation”. The podcasts will be published in the form of 30 minute interviews. The first episode features WHU CCT Keynote Speaker Matthias Hartmann, CEO of energy services provider Techem. The main focus is on the issues of climate change, the opportunities and challenges unfolding during the pandemic and the key takeaways from their transformation. Further guests in the podcast series include Lars Grünert, CFO of Trumpf GmbH & Co. KG along with Gisbert Rühl, CEO of Klöckner & Co.

The Podcast series was brought to life by the two organizers of the WHU CCT conference series, Prof. Dr. Serden Ozcan, Chair of Innovation and Corporate Transformation, and Prof. Dr. Martin Glaum, Chair of International Accounting, together with Gori von Hirschhausen, partner at PwC, one of WHU CCT’s sponsors. According to Prof. Dr. Serden Ozcan: “Corporate transformation means carrying out fundamental change at the very core of a company, which has always been a challenging, risky, and strategic issue.”

“The idea” adds Prof. Dr. Martin Glaum “is to take an in-depth look into the transformation journeys going on at some of Germany’s leading companies in the most diverse industries. Listeners will be able to learn more about the challenges companies are facing right now. Each episode will give practical insights to inspire listeners to make a positive difference in their own companies.”

PwC, as a leading transformation consulting company, cooperates with WHU on multiple initiatives, including studies and executive programs, combining business know-how with academic foundations. Speaking on the podcast’s relevance to PwC, Gori von Hirschhausen, European Head of Financial Transformation at PwC shares, “This podcast series is the perfect exercise to gather varying viewpoints from some of Europe’s top leaders, who have either already mastered corporate transformation during a global pandemic or are currently in the middle of it. We want to tell true stories, share experiences, and have exclusive time with top industry leaders, illustrating business transformation in theory and in practice.”

The podcasts will be available on Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, Google, iTunes and the WHU Knowledge Platform. While the first session will be held in English, the following publications will be held in English or German, depending on the content and those involved.

The WHU Campus for Corporate Transformation conference is scheduled for September 23, 2021 at the WHU Campus Düsseldorf. Entitled “Leading Corporate Transformation in a Post-COVID World”, it will host further keynote speakers including Dr. Martin Brudermüller, CEO of BASF SE, Martina Merz, CEO of ThyssenKrupp, and Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO of Vodafone Germany. The conference will take place in English and include, in addition to the impressive line-up of keynote speakers, interactive workshops run by some of the world’s leading experts on corporate transformation based on real-life transformational case studies. The full-program and a limited number of tickets are available on www.corporate-transformation.net.
