Audi increases market share to almost 9

Audi continues to prosper: in October the company increased its market share in Germany to just under 9 percent compared with 7.8 percent in the previous year - one of the best figures in the history of AUDI AG. A total of more than 25,000 Audi cars were registered for the first time in Germany (compared with 20,263 last year).
Between January and October, around 210,000 new Audi vehicles were registered on the German automotive market, which is shrinking overall, compared with 195,650 in the same period last year. Audi's market share increased in this period to 7.4 percent (compared with 6.8 percent last year).
Audi is an international developer and manufacturer of high-quality cars. In 2000 the company sold more than 650,000 Audi models. The sales revenues of the Audi Group totalled DM 39 billion. The Audi Group currently has more than 50,000 employees.
