KfW IPEX-Bank finances state-of-the-art energy-efficient environmentally friendly press lines for BMW
Largest servo press lines in the world
Important contract for German engineering industry

Frankfurt am Main (ots)

With EUR 130 million, KfW IPEX-Bank is financing two highly energy-efficient and powerful servo press lines and the construction of new manufacturing halls for two BMW AG plants in Germany. The financing agreements were signed on Friday.

The equipment ordered by BMW are compact crossbar feeder press lines with ServoDirect technology. The presses are manufactured in Baden-Württemberg and Thüringen. The modern servo motors reduce friction losses in the drive train of the presses. Compared to conventional drives this leads not only to a substantial reduction of energy use per component, but also to savings of hydraulic oil and less noise emissions, vibrations and transport operations while simultaneously reducing the surface area required. The project meets ambitious sustainability criteria and thus receives funding from the ERP Environmental Protection and Energy Saving Programme of KfW.

"We are pleased to contribute to this environmentally friendly showcase project of BMW AG. At the same time, through our investment we indirectly promote sales of German small and medium-sized companies," said Markus Scheer, member of the Management Board of KfW IPEX-Bank, on the occasion of the signing.
