Space for Large Conferences Congress Centres in Leipzig

When looking for a destination and venue for their next association meeting, event organisers should definitely check out Leipzig! Leipziger Messe has two large venues for conferences and congresses: the Congress Center Leipzig and the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig. Both facilities are characterised by the space they offer, their flexibility, their expertise and their service. Organisers also benefit from the expertise of an internationally successful trade fair company.

Congress Center Leipzig (CCL): Plenty of space for conferences of all sizes

A naturally lit atrium and lots of customisable space: the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) is the perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality. One of the most modern congress centres in Europe, it is directly integrated into the exhibition grounds of Leipziger Messe. The CCL has 23 halls and rooms with seating for between 30 and 1000 people. There are also multifunctional, multi-purpose areas and spacious foyers. The exhibition halls and meeting areas in the Messehaus are right next door. The rooms and halls can be individually combined, making it possible to organise conferences for a few hundred participants just as easily as congresses with up to 20,000 visitors and a large trade fair.

Fully customisable exhibition hall

Conference organisers benefit from the advantages of Leipzig’s exhibition grounds. You can hold large conferences in the CCL and in the neighbouring Exhibition Hall 2. With more than 20,000 square metres of space, it is ideal for presenting numerous exhibitors and integrated plenary halls. Events benefit from having everything within easy reach, leaving more time for meetings. One event that benefits from this is OTWorld, the leading international congress and trade fair for modern medical aids. The exhibition hall can also accommodate a large plenary hall with several thousand seats and a stage. The large amount of space on offer and the flexible layout has also convinced the German Child and Youth Welfare Congress. Europe’s largest youth welfare summit will welcome delegates to the CCL and Leipzig’s exhibition grounds in May 2025. Some 30,000 guests are expected in total. But the CCL also provides ample space for compact exhibitions as part of a conference. The OECD’s International Transport Forum has been taking advantage of this for years. Its list of references speaks for itself – the CCL regularly impresses organisers as a venue for national and international conferences.

KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig – Historic setting for modern conferences

If you want to hold a conference close to the city centre, you should definitely consider the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig. The Gründerzeit building, dating from 1900, is an architectural highlight. Since its renovation in 2016, the CCL has operated it as a modern conference centre. Fifteen halls and rooms of various types, plus foyers and lounges, can accommodate from 10 to 1200 delegates. Here too, the rooms can be flexibly combined. Add to this the proven CCL-style full service. Another advantage: it is within walking distance of Leipzig’s main railway station and many hotels in the city centre.

From catering to stand construction: Full service for conferences in Leipzig

Whether in the CCL or the KONGRESSHALLE – event organisers hire more than just a venue. They also get expert personal contacts who are experienced in the conference business and benefit from the services of the Leipziger Messe group. Subsidiary fairgourmet is responsible for all catering at both venues. Experts are on hand to plan and set up the exhibition and provide event technology. As part of the congress initiative “Feel the spirit … do-it-at-leipzig.de”, the CCL and KONGRESSHALLE teams also have excellent networks. This means that they can also help with accommodation for participants, organising a social programme or ideas for an evening event.

Eco-friendly local travel

The CCL and the KONGRESSHALLE focus on eco-friendly mobility offers. The KONGRESSHALLE is located directly next to a tram stop. Public transport and intercity trains provide easy access to the CCL. Organisers can work with the local transport authority, LVB, to offer delegates a congress ticket. With this, the delegate badge then also serves as a ticket for public transport in Leipzig. Electric charging points are available in the CCL car park for delegates travelling by electric car. There is also a charging station for e-bike batteries and plenty of bicycle parking on the exhibition grounds.

Certified sustainability: Growth in Balance

Speaking of sustainability: the trade fair company Leipziger Messe is certified according to Green Globe standards. The CCL and KONGRESSHALLE group of companies is also committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Under the slogan Growth in Balance, the focus is on aspects of social, environmental and economic sustainability. Here are some examples: the venues use 100 per cent green electricity. Significant energy savings are achieved through advanced sound systems and lighting technology. fairgourmet focuses on sustainable gastronomy. Its sustainable approaches to catering include fair trade certified organic coffee, sourcing local produce and waste reduction. The CCL is a co-signatory of the fairpflichtet sustainability code. These and other ideas are in good company in Leipzig. Many venues and partners are committed to sustainable events.
