Topic of the month: World Bicycle Day with Metro on June 3rd
Today’s Topic: World Bicycle Day. Once again, in this extraordinary year, it falls on June 3rd. Now, you might be forgiven for thinking there’s more important things than bikes right now. But the fact is, the bicycle is living life in the fast lane. With more than two billion bikes worldwide in use, they are very much the trend. If you’re riding a bike, you don’t need oil. Cycling has social, economic and ecological benefits. It contributes to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. And cycling doesn’t just make you beautiful (think calf muscles and complexion), but it is beautiful. Graphic designers and architects conscious of sophistication know there is very little that displays excellent style than a fancy bicycle. With one exception, of course: a Metro. By which we don’t mean a mode of transportation, but the wristwatch from NOMOS Glashütte. It’s also mechanically powered and sustainable—just like a bike. And it stays beautiful long after you’ve dismounted and are back in the meeting room.
The attached image shows one of 14 Metro models from NOMOS Glashütte, Metro neomatik 41 Update. neomatik is the name of the ultra-flat automatic NOMOS calibers—mechanical watch movements that are distinguished, among other things, by their tight tolerances and the extremely low-friction service they provide. For 175 years, developments like this have taken the art of watchmaking to new heights in the Saxon watchmaking town of Glashütte. Want to find out more about it? Give us a call. Or drop by—on bike, Metro or however you like. We look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely, Oliver Nyikos
