The occupancy rate increased to 88.6 percent (Q2 2010/2011: 86.9 percent). Therefore revenues expanded to EUR 96.8 million (previous year: EUR 95.2 million) and EBIT increased from EUR 3.2 million to EUR 5.0 million. "With these results we continue the improvement of our profitability. The Company is on track for reaching our guidance for full fiscal year 2011/2012." says Michael Thanheiser, chairman of Marseille-Kliniken AG. Since fiscal year 2010/2011 Marseille-Kliniken AG fosters growth by a strategy mix which includes a focus on care for elderly, quality leadership and a decentralised management structure. Moreover an initiative carried out to optimise costs also played a role in supporting the company's economic recovery. This trend continued in the results published today. With an increase of 2.0 percent to 88.6 percent, the occupancy rate exceeded the market average (88 percent). Coincidently with the expansion of revenues, total expenses declined from EUR 96.0 million in previous year to EUR 94.2 million. Due to this EBITDAR increased by 1.5 percent to EUR 26.9 million (previous year: EUR 26.5 million) and EBITDA rose by 15.3 percent to EUR 8.3 million (previous year: EUR 7.2 million). Total group earnings increased to EUR 4.1 million (previous year: EUR 0.3 million). This results in EUR 0.27 earnings per share (previous year: EUR 0.02). Overall Marseille-Kliniken AG operates a total of 60 care facilities across Germany, with a sales capacity of 7,953 beds on 31 December 2011. Against the backdrop of the half yearly results, Marseille-Kliniken AG confirms its forecast for full 2011/2012 financial year, which calls for a slight revenue increase and Group EBIT of EUR 10.0 million, well above the previous year's level.
