Mr. Pat Lupo, Executive Chairman of the global Express service
provider DHL International (Brussels), assumes a new function. He
will be responsible for the integration of the US operations DHL
Worldwide Express Inc. (San Francisco) in the USA. In order to focus
on this new task, he will relinquish the position of Executive
Chairman and will continue as a Member of the Board of Directors at
DHL International. Mr. Rob Kuijpers will continue to be Chief
Executive at Brussels based DHL International.
With effect from 1.1.2001, Mr. Uwe R. Dörken will become the new
Executive Chairman of DHL International with his office in Brussels.
Mr. Dörken is a Member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Post
World Net and in this function he has built up, among others, the
leading European parcel network Euro Express. He will continue as a
Member of the Board. As the Board Member responsible for DHL
Worldwide Express he will ensure an optimum networking of the global
Express activities.
With effect from 1.1.2001, Dr. Peter Kruse will succeed Mr. Dörken
as Board Member responsible for Euro Express. Before, he was sole
Managing Director with Bertelsmann Distribution and then Deputy
Chairman of the Board of Management of Kühne & Nagel International
AG. Since the end of 1999, Dr. Kruse has been the special
representative of the Board of Management of Deutsche Post World Net
and has been very successful in heading up international acquisitions
in the logistics field.
