Dr. Christoph Grau (37) will be joining Ringier Axel Springer Media AG as Chief Operations Officer (COO) with effect from January 5, 2015. The position is newly created.
In his role as COO, Grau will focus on accelerating further digitization of the activities in Hungary, Slovakia and Serbia. Grau reports to Chief Executive Officer Mark Dekan and also becomes a member of the Executive Board. As announced recently Jonny Crowe Chief Digital Officer and member of the Executive Board becomes, in addition to his role, interim CEO of Grupa Onet.pl and will be dedicated to the Group's activities in Poland.

Before joining Ringier Axel Springer Media AG, Grau worked as Chief Digital Officer for Macmillan Education in London, a leading publisher in the Language Learning, Schools and Higher Education business, where he was responsible for the company's digitization strategy.
Prior to this, he spent more than four years as Senior Group Strategy Manager at Holtzbrinck's headquarters in Stuttgart. During this time he worked on the strategic priorities across the Holtzbrinck portfolio, focusing on the digital transformation of the various companies.
