Air Berlin: More passengers and increased capacity utilization in April

Berlin (euro adhoc) - In April 2008, Air Berlin (including LTU, Belair and the airline company Walter)íncreased the number of passengers transported to 2,242,575 million, i.e. a 6.5 percent increase over the corresponding month of the previous year (04/2007: 2,106,730 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization improved by 4.5 percentage points to reach 78.8 percent (04/2007: 74.3 percent).
The accumulated number of passengers traveling on Air Berlin increased by 9.7 percent. From January to April 2008, Air Berlin welcomed 8,073,735 passengers on board. For 2007, this figure amounted to 7,363,003 passengers. For the first four months of 2008, the capacity utilization rate improved from 70.7 to 74.7 percent, i.e. an increase of 4 percentage points.
At 5.19 Eurocents in April 2008, flight revenue per available seat kilometer (ASK) was 5.6 percent higher than in the previous year (04/2007: 4.91 Eurocents).
