Ad hoc Release pursuant to § 15 of the Securities Trading Act (WpHG)
London, 27 November 2008 - For the third quarter of 2008, the turnover of the Air Berlin Group increased from EUR *977.7 million to EUR 1.062 billion, which represents an 8.6 percent increase over the third quarter of the previous year. The measures implemented in the course of the efficiency program introduced in the summer are showing positive effects and have led to a significant increase in operating income. As a result, EBIT increased from EUR *56.8 million to EUR 89.1 million. This represents an 56.9 percent increase over the third quarter of the previous year. Net income improved 42.9% from EUR *31.9 million to EUR 45.6 million. Despite the difficult circumstances on the world markets and the challenges arising from the weakening of the global economy, the Board of Directors remains optimistic about achieving a positive operating income for the current year.
