London, 8 January 2009 - Air Berlin PLC was notified on 8 January 2009 that AI Aviation Coöperatief U.A. has disposed of 18.94% of the voting shares held in Air Berlin PLC. AI Aviation Coöperatief U.A. is controlled by AI SMS L.P. and AI Aviation Holdings LLC which is also controlled by AI SMS L.P. AI SMS L.P. is controlled by Access Industries Holdings LLC, which in turn is controlled by Access Industries, LLC. Access Industries, LLC is controlled by Len Blavatnik.
