Stéphane Jacqmin joins STADA from Sanofi and becomes Head of Emerging Markets
- Stéphane Jacqmin brings to STADA extensive experience in both pharmaceutical and FMCG settings across multiple international markets
- Jacqmin was most recently Region Head, Latin America, at Sanofi Consumer Healthcare
- STADA CEO Peter Goldschmidt: “I am delighted that, with a leader of Stéphane’s caliber, we will further accelerate our business in Emerging Markets and bring additional Consumer Healthcare expertise to our global STADA Executive Team.”
Bad Vilbel, Germany – 23 November 2022 – STADA has appointed Stéphane Jacqmin as Head of Emerging Markets as of 1 January 2023. Jacqmin brings extensive leadership and management experience in consumer healthcare and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors acquired at Unilever, Danone, Reckitt Benckiser and, most recently, Sanofi Consumer Healthcare.
As an Executive Vice-President and a member of the STADA Executive Committee, Jacqmin reports directly to Chief Executive Officer Peter Goldschmidt. He takes over from Carsten Cron, who will now explore opportunities outside of the Group. “I would like to thank Carsten for his efforts and engagement over the past almost five years. Under his leadership, STADA has made great strides in expanding its presence in Emerging Markets, not least by introducing Consumer Healthcare brands in key countries, expanding our Generics offering, and in-licensing several Specialty medicines,” Goldschmidt stated.
“I am delighted that, with a leader of Stéphane’s caliber, we will further accelerate our business in Emerging Markets and bring additional Consumer Healthcare expertise to our global STADA Executive Team,” commented Goldschmidt. “His extensive experience in regions including South-East Asia, China and the Middle East will be invaluable in capitalizing on the many opportunities open to STADA across Consumer Healthcare, Generics and Specialty Care.”
Having started his career at Unilever in several international FMCG, food and beverage positions in Europe and North America, Jacqmin gained around four years of experience in southern Africa with Danone before leading RB’s healthcare and household business as General Manager in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In 2012, Jacqmin joined Sanofi Consumer Healthcare, initially as Business Unit Director for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. A year later, he became General Manager in China. In this Shanghai-based role, he transformed and turned around the Consumer Healthcare business. A subsequent posting in Singapore saw Jacqmin oversee the integration of the acquired Boehringer Ingelheim consumer portfolio across South-East Asia, delivering double-digit sales and profit growth.
Based in Dubai, Jacqmin then assumed responsibility for 19 Sanofi Consumer Healthcare markets as Zone Head for Turkey, Middle East and Greater China. Most recently, he led a team of around 1,500 employees across 30 countries as Region Head of Sanofi Consumer Healthcare in Latin America, based in Panama.
“I look forward to working closely with the teams across key STADA Emerging Markets such as Vietnam, The Philippines and China, as well as in the Middle East. Through a clear focus on people, purpose and performance, I will empower the local teams to take an entrepreneurial approach to driving growth and caring for people’s health as a trusted partner.”
