LAMILUX renovation solutions: Customised, cost-effective and energy-efficient!

LAMILUX, the leading manufacturer of innovative skylights, offers comprehensive renovation solutions from a single source - from planning to installation and maintenance. In addition to providing more daylight, fresh air and safety in existing buildings, the customised renovation solutions from the skylight manufacturer also contribute to an increase in property value and greater energy efficiency.

Thanks to decades of experience, intensive research and development in close cooperation with customers, LAMILUX is recognised as an expert in the field of flat roof renovation and has a comprehensive product portfolio that meets the highest quality standards.

Renovations are crucial for the future of building efficiency

Openings in the roof always entail the risk of heat and heating energy being lost. Skylights therefore have the mighty task of keeping energy in the building and ensuring a consistently pleasant indoor climate. However, poorly insulated roofs or outdated skylights often cannot cope with this challenge. This makes energy-efficient renovation of the building urgently necessary. But increased requirements for sound insulation, hail resistance and fall-through protection also call for renovation measures which usually go hand in hand with the upgrading of roof windows. Thanks to daylight incidence and thermal insulation, these offer the key to sustainable utilisation of the building.

‘Maintenance is an important topic in construction, because we can't just think in terms of new buildings. Refurbishment, renovation and upgrading of buildings and parts of buildings is the obvious future of the industry and is already the present. That's why we are constantly working on solutions that bring daylight, fresh air and safety from above into existing buildings of all ages,’ says Dr Alexander Strunz, Managing Partner of LAMILUX Heinrich Strunz GmbH.

Flat roof renovation made easy

Every flat roof renovation is different and the requirements for the respective skylight are different. As Europe's leading skylight manufacturer, LAMILUX offers a wide range of customised renovation solutions - individual, energy-efficient and cost-effective.

Individuality

The various LAMILUX renovation frames offer full compatibility, allowing LAMILUX upstand products, such as rooflights or glass skylights, to be mounted on the existing upstand on site, regardless of the manufacturer, and system solutions to be individually exchanged. Any ceiling opening size and any upstand size can therefore be used with LAMILUX upstand products. As part of the renovation, LAMILUX glass roofs also offer individual design freedom, can be installed in various roof constructions and provide extensive illumination of the room with plenty of daylight. In addition, special shading concepts and fall-through or insect protection can be integrated if required. Building regulations for industrial and public buildings require the integration of fire protection solutions. As a reliable partner for fire protection, LAMILUX offers customised solutions for fire protection and safety in buildings with its fire protection windows Fire Resistance and smoke and heat extraction systems (SHEVS).

Energy and cost efficiency

LAMILUX focuses on energy-efficient renovation, as this not only leads to a reduction in energy costs, but also makes a significant contribution to promoting sustainability. With the variety of LAMILUX renovation frames, system solutions can be individually exchanged and supplemented with a LAMILUX heightening element according to a modular principle. By integrating the heightening element, the roof structure is raised, enabling an increase in insulation and better energy values in the building. The LAMILUX Continuous Rooflight B is particularly sustainable and a suitable renovation solution for industrial halls. Its functionality is tested for hail resistance, air and water tightness, as well as snow and wind load above the regional requirements for weathering and beyond the statutory requirements for service life.

On top of this, the LAMILUX skylights guarantee extensive illumination of the room with natural light after the renovation, significantly reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. Around 30 per cent of the heating and cooling energy in buildings can be saved just by using efficiency-enhancing room automation functions. The LAMILUX Ventilation Flap PR60 can be integrated into all mullion and transom systems available on the market.

Selected LAMILUX skylights have also been awarded the Passivhaus certificate, making them ideal for new buildings and energy-efficient renovations. ‘Unlike a comparable standard product, a Passivhaus window, such as the LAMILUX Glass Skylight Passivhaus, saves more than 70 per cent heating energy,’ says Andreas Rudolph from the LAMILUX skylights technology team.

Based on certain life cycle assessments, the sustainability of LAMILUX products was recorded in so-called EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations). Some of the LAMILUX skylights can also be combined with photovoltaic modules.

Renovation services for long-lasting flat roofs

As a renovation specialist, LAMILUX offers professional renovation services to extend the life cycle of flat roofs and realise the individual requirements of an environmentally friendly renovation. Experienced specialists are on hand with competent expertise throughout the entire implementation process, from analysis and planning to production and installation of the renovation solutions. They provide comprehensive support for potential customers and interested parties.
