LEONINE Studios presents a first look at the new six-part event series HERZOGPARK, named after Munich’s luxury residential neighborhood. LEONINE Studios handles worldwide sales on the series and will launch international distribution at MIPCOM this fall.
At the center of this juicy society drama/comedy are strong female characters depicted by an award-winning and internationally known cast including Heike Makatsch (LOVE ACTUALLY, ANATOMY 2, OBSESSION), Lisa Maria Potthoff (KAISERSCHMARRNDRAMA, SKYLINES, SOLOALBUM), Antje Traue (DARK, MAN OF STEEL, WOMAN IN GOLD), Felicitas Woll (BERLIN, BERLIN; GIRLS ON TOP, DAS NEBELHAUS), Heiner Lauterbach (WELCOME TO GERMANY, THE COLLINI CASE, BLACKOUT), Jeanette Hain (THE READER, TRIBES OF EUROPA, NEVER LOOK AWAY), Trystan Pütter (BABYLON BERLIN, TONI ERDMANN, KU’DAMM), Lukas Spisser (WHAT WE WANTED, THE EREMITES, ROCKET FOR TWO) and in a guest role Francis Fulton-Smith (BLACKOUT, OKTOBERFEST 1900, SPIDES).
About the series
Hannah, Elisabeth and Annabelle: they’re beautiful, rich and want to stay where they are at all costs: in Munich’s highly exclusive residential area of Herzogpark. There’s only one problem and it’s male, powerful and has all three of them in its grip: the construction mogul Nikolaus van der Bruck. The women decide that they have to get rid of van der Bruck. But how? Poison him, run him over, shoot him or suffocate him during sex? It’s not so easy to get rid of someone with an element of elegance and discretion. Especially not in a world like Herzogpark where everyone is watching everyone else and at the same time trying to keep up the nice facade... And then suddenly an obscure outsider appears on the screen and seems to be pursuing her own agenda. A woman unlike any of the three Herzogpark ladies. A woman who has nothing to lose. For Maria has already had everything taken from her, by Nikolaus.
Director is Academy Award®-winner Jochen Alexander Freydank (TOYLAND, UND WEG BIST DU). Annette Simon wrote the screenplays based on an idea by Yoko Higuchi-Zitzmann and scripts from Regina Dietl with Nadine Keil, Enno Reese and John-Hendrik Karsten. HERZOGPARK is produced by Yoko Higuchi-Zitzmann (MY BLIND DATE WITH LIFE) and Michael Lehmann (LINDENBERG! MACH DEIN DING) for Letterbox Filmproduktion and Felix von Poser (LINDENBERG! MACH DEIN DING) for Amalia Film. The production of the series was financially supported by FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, IDM Film Fund and the German Motion Picture Fund.
The series will premiere on RTL’s streaming service TVNOW in Germany.
Patricia Riekel, who headed Europe's biggest people magazine BUNTE as editor-in-chief for over 20 years, contributed her exclusive insights into the world of the rich and famous as script consultant to the series.
