LEONINE Studios sells crime-drama series TROPPO and political thriller series BONN to multiple territories
- CANAL+ Group’s thriller channel POLAR+ took Basic PayTV, SVOD, TVOD and EST rights to French speaking territories for TROPPO
- AMC Networks Central Europe acquired PayTV, FreeTV and SVOD rights to Adria-Balkans, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania for TROPPO
- FreeTV rights for TROPPO were licensed to RTP2 Portugal
- FreeTV rights for BONN were picked up by RTV Slovenija, MTVA Hungary, RTP2 Portugal and SBS Australia
Munich, November 24, 2023 – LEONINE Studios has sold the Basic PayTV, SVOD, TVOD and EST rights to the crime-drama series TROPPO to CANAL+ Group’s thriller channel POLAR+ for French speaking territories. AMC Networks Central Europe acquired the PayTV, FreeTV and SVOD rights for all Adria-Balkan territories (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia) as well as Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The FreeTV rights were sold to RTP2 Portugal. The series was previously sold to Viaplay for the Nordics and the Netherlands as well as Amazon Freevee for Germany and the UK.
The FreeTV rights to the political thriller series BONN were sold to RTV Slovenija, MTVA Hungary, RTP2 Portugal and SBS Australia.
TROPPO is based on the highly successful Crimson Lake novel series written by New York Times best-selling author Candice Fox. The series premiered very successfully on Australia’s ABC and debuted in the US on Amazon Freevee in May 2022. LEONINE Studios also handles international sales of the second season, which has just completed production.

TROPPO was created and written by the award-winning filmmaker Yolanda Ramke (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”, “Cargo”). She co-directed the series with acclaimed directors Jocelyn Moorhouse (“Wakefield”, “The Dressmaker”), Catherine Millar (“Twisted”), Ben Howling (“Cargo”) and Grant Brown (“Rush”).
Thomas Jane (“1922”, “Hung”, “The Punisher”, “Boogie Nights”) plays down-and-out ex-cop Ted Conkaffey, who is recruited by Amanda Pharell, an eccentric small town private investigator played by Nicole Chamoun (“On the Ropes”, “Safe Harbour”) to investigate the murder of a brilliant tech pioneer. They are joined by multi award-winning actress Radha Mitchell (“Olympus Has Fallen”, “London Has Fallen”, “The Shack”), David Lyons (“Eat Pray Love”, “Safe Haven”, “Truth Be Told”, “Revolution”) and Yerin Ha (“Halo”).
Yolanda Ramke executive produces along with Stuart Ford and Lourdes Diaz, Matt Bankston (AGC Studios), Greg Quail, Lisa Duff, Simonne Overend (EQ Media Group), Mikael Broglund, David Ogilvy (Beyond Entertainment), Sally Riley and Andrew Gregory (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) as well as Thomas Jane and Courtney Lauren Penn (Renegade Entertainment). Producer of the series is Karl Zwicky.

Based on true events, the political thriller series BONN is about rival secret services, old Nazi networks and a young woman who fights for her place in a male-dominated society. The producers of the six-part series are Philip Voges (Odeon Fiction) and Fabian Winkelmann (Odeon Fiction), alongside executive producer Caren Toennissen (WDR) and editor Götz Vogt (WDR).
BONN is a production of Odeon Fiction in cooperation with Wilma Film, Prague, on behalf of the ARD with the producing broadcaster WDR, supported by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, FFF Bayern and the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF).
