PANTHER ARFF receives the well-known IDEA design prize in the USA

Leonding (euro adhoc) - In September, the PANTHER ARFF, which has already captured numerous accolades, was awarded the IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) in gold. This distinction is one of the world's most well-known and only 35 of the 1,517 projects submitted were rewarded with a first prize.
The PANTHER 8x8, which has eight powered wheels, an operational weight of up to 52 tonnes, 19,000 litres of extinguishing agents and a top speed of 140 kph, is currently the leading ARFF vehicle on the market and meets the demands of aircraft of the size of the Airbus A380. The design of the PANTHER was created in teamwork with the Vienna-based innovation company, Spirit Design.
Among the design honours previously received by the PANTHER are the red dot design award 2006, the iF design award 2006, the 2007 National Prize for Design of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Focus Energy Gold 2006.
The PANTHER made its public debut in June 2005 at the "Interschutz" in Hanover, the world's largest fire industry trade fair. Even during the fair, four PANTHER 8x8 vehicles were ordered by Dubai International Airport.
The International Design Excellence Awards, which were first allocated in 1980, number among the world's most sought-after design prizes. They are presented by the IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America), the USA's largest design association, which also has members from 32 other countries.
