Leonding (euro adhoc) - Rosenbauer, world market leader in special-purpose vehicles, has bagged an order from the group of companies Aéroports de Paris for the first time in its history. The multi-year framework contract covers the supply of up to 20 airport fire fighting vehicles of the type PANTHER 8x8.
The group of companies Aéroports de Paris is one of the largest airport operating companies in Europe. The framework contract that has been concluded has a validity period of four years with an optional extension by another seven years. Inclusive of the optional extension, the framework contract amounts to an order value of around 30 mEUR. The initial release order out of the framework contract have now been issued and the initial delivery of the first two PANTHER 8x8 to Orly airport will take place as early as in January 2011.
The airports Charles de Gaulle and Orly will therewith be equipped with the top model among airport fire fighting vehicles. The PANTHER vehicles based on a four-axle chassis have a motor rating of 1.260 hp, with a guaranteed acceleration of 0 - 80 km/h in less than 22 seconds and a maximum speed of more than 135 km/h. More than 12,000 l of extinguishing agent can thus be transported to the place of deployment as quickly as possible.
This contract, acquired in the face of strong international competition in the course of an international call for tenders, once again confirms the leading position of Rosenbauer in the worldwide fire engine market. A convincing price/performance ratio as well as high technological demands on the products were decisive for this multi-year cooperation contract with Rosenbauer being concluded.
