companies/earnings forecast
(Haar/Germany, August 28, 2007). Softing AG, a global provider of industrial automation and automotive electronics hardware and software headquartered in Haar near Munich/Germany, today announced a significant increase of its 2007 sales and earnings forecast. Given the sustained, positive performance of the company's business, the Executive Board of Munich-based Softing AG now expects earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) to total at least EUR 2 million and sales to come in at more than EUR 26 million in 2007.
Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wolfgang Trier presented a highly positive review of the first half-year at the company's annual general meeting last Friday. In the first six months, Softing boosted sales by 24% to EUR 13.6 million. EBIT showed an equally positive development, jumping by EUR 1.7 million in the first half-year to EUR 1.2 million. A particularly pleasing development is that Automotive Electronics is back on the road to success. The division is experiencing double-digit growth rates and has returned to profitability.
The capital measures that were adopted by a large majority at the annual general meeting enable Softing to carry out acquisitions at short notice if required to support the company's non-organic growth. The management is currently reviewing various options in this regard.
