Karlsruhe (euro adhoc) - Karlsruhe, Germany, August 9, 2010 - asknet, a leading provider of global eCommerce solutions for software vendors, today published its half-year report in which it declared that the company will continue to pursue the strategic goal of internationalization in 2010. To this end, asknet restructured its sales organization in the first six months of 2010, improving the company's ability to respond to regional requirements in the future. In addition, asknet is strengthening its position in the American market. This strategy has already reaped its first successes, with asknet announcing the acquisition of two new international eDistribution clients as well as the expansion of ePortals, academic software portals, to Switzerland.
The asknet Group reported sales of EUR 34.2 million in the first half of 2010. The positive growth dynamic is demonstrated by the company's gross profits, which were 16 percent higher in the most recent quarter than in the second quarter of 2009. This brought an increase in gross profits from EUR 4.5 million in the first half of 2009 to EUR 5.0 million in the first half of 2010. The company posted results of EUR -591,000 in the first half of this year, a 33 percent improvement compared to the reference period.
As Michael Scheib, CEO of asknet AG, confirms, the new accounts show the effectiveness of asknet's international approach. "Both of our new clients selected us over American and European competitors on the basis of our pitch." says Scheib. "For us this is a very clear signal that asknet is competitive on a global level."
