Bonn, 3. Juni 2020: DHL Express, der weltweit führende Anbieter von Expressdienstleistungen, hat sich mit einen ganz besonderen Dank für seine Mitarbeiter vor Ort für den unermüdlichen Einsatz während der Coronavirus-Pandemie ausgedacht. Mit einem DHL Flugzeug, das mit Regenbogensymbolen und großen "Thank You"-Aufschriften versehen ist, möchte das Unternehmen seine Dankbarkeit gegenüber allen Mitarbeitern ausdrücken, die den Betrieb des Logistik-Netzwerks aus Hubs und Gateways in über 220 Ländern und Territorien aufrechterhalten.
"Wir freuen uns, unsere Dankbarkeit für den unermüdlichen Einsatz unserer Mitarbeiter und allen mutigen Beschäftigten im Gesundheitswesen auf diesem ganz besonderen Weg zeigen zu können.", sagt Alberto Nobis CEO DHL Express Europa. "Sie sorgen dafür, dass unsere Welt in der derzeitigen Krise weiter funktioniert. Wir verdanken es ihren Bemühungen, dass wir die Stabilität der Lieferketten und der kritischen Infrastruktur aufrechterhalten können. Damit möchten wir unsere tiefe Dankbarkeit und unseren Respekt für ihren Einsatz und ihre Bereitschaft, für die gute Sache zu kämpfen, zum Ausdruck bringen."
Während der Corona-Krise konnte DHL Express einmal mehr nachdrücklich unter Beweise stellen, dass das Unternehmen der verlässliche Logistikpartner an der Seite seiner Kunden ist. An jedem einzelnen Tag war das weltweite Logistiknetzwerk vollständig in Betrieb. Über 260 dedizierte DHL Frachtmaschinen sowie Partner-Airlines sind täglich für das Unternehmen im Einsatz. DHL Express stellt über sein Netzwerk mehr als eine Million internationale zeitkritische Sendungen (Time Definite International)-Sendungen zu - jeden Tag. Unter den Sendungen befindet sich aktuell auch ein Großteil an medizinischen Produkten und Schutzkleidung, die das Coronavirus eindämmen und die weltweiten Gesundheitssysteme aufrechterhalten sollen.
"Wir haben einzigartige Mitarbeiter und ein weltweit einzigartiges Netzwerk. Auf beides sind wir sehr stolz denn nur so können wir täglich Höchstleistungen für das Geschäft unserer Kunden erbringen und ihnen zudem helfen, Krisen zu überwinden", ergänzt Roy Hughes, Executive Vice President Network Operations DHL Express Europe. "Wir werden alles dafür tun unsere volle Betriebsfähigkeit für unsere Kunden zu sichern und gleichzeitig den Schutz unserer Mitarbeiter zu gewährleisten."
Das "Thank You"-Flugzeug von DHL wird auf den planmäßigen Netzwerkflügen eingesetzt. Es hat die Registriernummer G-DHKF und fliegt unterschiedliche Ziele in ganz Europa und darüber hinaus an. Bisher hat es in 23 verschiedenen Ländern und an insgesamt 32 Gateways Halt gemacht. Dazu gehörten u. a. Deutschland, Großbritannien, Finnland, Dänemark, Bulgarien, Kroatien, Rumänien, Italien, Spanien und Marokko. Weitere Stopps sind in Israel, Portugal, und Österreich geplant. Um noch mehr Mitarbeiter in den DHL Hubs und Gateways sowie auf den Vorfeldern zu erreichen wird seit Ende Mai zusätzlich zur Boeing ein Transport-Container (ULD - Unit Load Device) mit dem Schriftzug "Thank You" versehen. Dieser "Thank YoULD" enthält täglich internationale Express-Sendungen und wird damit ebenso quer durch Europa geflogen. DHL Mitarbeiter können auf dem Container auch Grußbotschaften an ihre Kollegen hinterlassen, die dann in anderen Hubs und Gateways in den verschiedenen den europäischen Ländern im Netzwerk gelesen werden.
Steven Hanisch, Teamleiter Vorfeld am DHL Express Hub in Leipzig kommentiert: "Wir sitzen ja alle im selben Boot. Meine Aufgabe ist es, unsere Kunden in allen Situationen so gut wie möglich zu unterstützen und unseren Geschäftsbetrieb aufrechtzuerhalten. Natürlich freut es mich, wenn unsere Arbeit besonders in diesen unsicheren Zeiten geschätzt wird. Die Boeing soll aber auch ein Zeichen an die Mitarbeiter im Gesundheitswesen sein, denen eine noch größere Anerkennung für ihre tägliche Arbeit gebührt. Dass wir dieses Zeichen setzen, macht mich stolz darauf für DHL zu arbeiten."

Bonn, June 3, 2020: DHL Express, the world's leading express service provider, came up with a special gesture to thank frontline workers amid the Coronavirus pandemic. A DHL aircraft with rainbow symbols and huge stickers saying 'Thank you' shows DHL Express' gratefulness for all essential workers who keep operations and its network with hubs and gateways in more than 220 countries and territories up and running.
"We're excited to express thankfulness for our brave people as well as all the courageous health care and nursing personnel who guarantee that our world can keep going in the current global crisis" says Alberto Nobis, CEO DHL Express Europe. "Thanks to their efforts, we are able to maintain the stability of supply chains and critical infrastructure. With our special aircraft we want to emphasize our deepest gratitude and respect for their selfless actions and willingness to fight for a good cause."
DHL Express has strongly demonstrated the resilience of its intercontinental network and that it is a reliable partner for all of its customers as all hubs and gateways have been fully in operations through all days of the Covid-19 crisis. With approximately one million Time Definite International (TDI) deliveries per day and an aircraft fleet of more than 260 dedicated planes, DHL Express strives for excellence in customer service despite the pandemic. Among them were several time-critical deliveries of medical equipment to take part in fighting the spread of the Coronavirus and in saving as many lives as possible.

The DHL "Thank you" aircraft is being used as a normal network flight with the registration number
G-DHKF and different destinations across Europe and beyond. Until now the aircraft has stopped in 23 different countries and 32 different gateways including Germany, UK, Finland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Italy, Spain, and Morocco to name just a few. Further stops in Israel, Portugal and Austria are planned. To spread the message even more and to engage colleagues, Network Operations Europe started "Rainbow & Heroes", which is a campaign aimed at encouraging colleagues to share their best pictures of the aircraft in different facilities through Europe. To reach additional colleagues at the DHL aprons and inside the hubs and gateways a transport container (ULD - Unit Load Device) has been labeled with a "Thank YoULD" message as of end of May. This container which is used for transport the express shipments, will be flown through Europe and therefore seen from many employees as possible. The DHL employees can also sign this container with a message to their colleagues from other hubs and gateways in the different European countries of DHL's unique network.
Steven Hanisch, Supervisor Ramp at DHL Express Hub Leipzig, adds: "We are all in this together and it is my job to support our customers in all situations as best I can and to keep operations running. Nevertheless, I am very pleased when our work is appreciated, especially in these uncertain times.
