Bonn, 2. März 2023: Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL Group) belegt beim Einstellen von Geflüchteten Rang zwei unter den 50 leistungsstärksten globalen Unternehmen. Auch bei der Flüchtlingsintegration gehört der Logistikkonzern mit Rang acht zu den Top Ten. Das geht aus einem im Februar 2023 veröffentlichten Report des Datenanbieters Refugee Integration Insights (RII), einem spezialisierten Anbieter von Flüchtlingsdaten aus der Privatwirtschaft, hervor. Bei der DPDHL Group haben seit Herbst 2015 insgesamt 19.650 Geflüchtete ein Arbeits- oder Ausbildungsverhältnis begründet.
„Wir sind stolz darauf, dass wir bereits so vielen Geflüchteten eine Perspektive eröffnen und einen Einstieg in den Arbeitsmarkt ermöglichen konnten. Integration ist für uns als weltweit agierender Konzern gelebte Verantwortung und die Umsetzung unseres Ziels, Menschen zu verbinden und deren Leben zu verbessern“, sagt Thomas Ogilvie, Konzernvorstand Personal und Arbeitsdirektor der Deutschen Post DHL Group. Zum Thema Arbeitsmigration fügt Ogilvie an: „Menschen, die in unserem Land eine neue Heimat suchen, sind eine Bereicherung für den Arbeitsmarkt. Sie sind wichtig für die Zukunft unseres Landes und das Funktionieren unserer Wirtschaft, auch mit Blick auf den demographischen Wandel. Daher setzen wir uns zum Beispiel in der ,Allianz der Chancen‘ zusammen mit anderen Unternehmen dafür ein, noch bestehende Hürden für einen schnellen Zugang von Zugewanderten zum deutschen Arbeitsmarkt zu beseitigen.“
Im Unternehmensbereich Post & Paket Deutschland haben seit Ausbruch des Kriegs 435 Ukrainerinnen und Ukrainer einen Arbeitsvertrag erhalten. Eine Ausbildung bei dem Bonner Logistikkonzern haben rund 300 Geflüchtete angetreten, darunter mehrheitlich Fachkräfte für Kurier-, Express- und Postdienstleistungen (234), Berufskraftfahrer (38) und Mechatroniker (17). Ziel des Engagements der DPDHL Group im Bereich der Flüchtlingshilfe ist es, die Geflüchteten an den deutschen Arbeitsmarkt heranzuführen, vorhandene Vermittlungshemmnisse zu verringern und ihnen über eine versicherungspflichtige Beschäftigung ein selbstbestimmtes Leben zu ermöglichen.
Mit vielfältigen Maßnahmen, unter anderem Bewerbungstrainings, Mentoring-Programmen, Praktikumsangeboten und Sprachkursen, bereitet die DPDHL Group Geflüchtete auf das Berufsleben vor und bietet eine Perspektive auf Beschäftigung – innerhalb oder außerhalb des Unternehmens. Der Einsatz der Geflüchteten etwa aus den Ländern Syrien, Eritrea, Somalia, Iran, Irak und Ukraine erfolgt im Rahmen von Anstellungen, Ausbildungen und Praktika. Schwerpunkte sind Projekte und Programme, die den Spracherwerb fördern. Mit einer eigens entwickelten Sprachlern-App etwa unterstützt die DPDHL Group sie auch beim Erlernen der deutschen Sprache. Für den integrativen gesellschaftlichen Ansatz erhielt der Konzern in 2022 den e-Learning AWARD 2022. Getragen wird die Initiative durch das freiwillige Engagement der Mitarbeitenden, die sich in großer Zahl bundesweit als Mentoren, Ausbilder, Trainer oder Lese- und Sprachpaten in die Initiative einbringen.

Bonn, March 2, 2023: Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL Group) ranks second among the 50 best-performing global companies for hiring refugees. Ranked number eight, the logistics group is also among the top ten when it comes to refugee integration. This is according to a report published in February 2023 by Refugee Integration Insights (RII), a dedicated provider of private sector refugee data. A total of 19,650 refugees have entered into either employment or a traineeship at DPDHL Group since the autumn of 2015.
"We are proud to have been able to provide prospects for so many refugees and facilitate their entry into the labor market,” says Thomas Ogilvie, Board Member for Human Resources and Labor Director at Deutsche Post DHL Group. “Integration is a responsibility we live out as a global company, and a means of realizing our goal of connecting people and improving their lives.” On the subject of labor migration, Ogilvie adds: "People looking for a new home in our country enrich the workforce. They are important for our country’s future and the functioning of our economy, not to mention demographics. That's why, at the 'Alliance of Opportunities’, for example, we are working with other companies to remove any remaining obstacles blocking fast access to the German labor market for immigrants."
At Post & Parcel Germany, 435 Ukrainians have been hired since the outbreak of the war. Around 300 refugees have started a traineeship with the Bonn-based logistics company, the majority of whom as courier, express and postal services specialists (234), professional drivers (38) and mechatronics engineers (17). The aim of DPDHL Group's commitment to helping refugees is to integrate them into the German labor market, to reduce existing barriers to placement and enable them to lead self-determined lives through employment subject to compulsory insurance.
Thanks to a variety of measures, including application training, mentoring programs, internships, and language courses, DPDHL Group not only prepares refugees for the world of work but also offers them employment prospects – within or outside the company. The deployment of refugees from countries such as Syria, Eritrea, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, and Ukraine takes place within the framework of employment, traineeships and internships. The focus is on projects and programs that promote language acquisition. Using a specially developed in-house language learning app, for example, DPDHL Group also helps them learn German. In 2022, the Group received the e-Learning AWARD 2022 for its integrative social approach. The initiative is supported by volunteer employees who get involved as mentors, trainers, coaches or reading and language mentors in large numbers throughout Germany.
