Bonn, 10. August 2023: DHL Global Forwarding, der Luft- und Seefrachtspezialist von DHL Group, gibt eine Änderung in seinem globalen Führungsteam bekannt. Thomas Mack, aktuell Executive Vice President Air Freight, wird in eine neue Rolle als Senior Advisor wechseln und dabei weiterhin direkt an Tim Scharwath, CEO von DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, berichten. Nach dieser Übergangszeit wird Thomas Mack dann im Oktober 2024 in den Ruhestand gehen.
Thomas Mack war vier Jahrzehnte lang mit großem Erfolg in der Luftfrachtindustrie tätig. Zu DHL Global Forwarding kam er vor fünf Jahren als globaler Leiter Luftfracht. In dieser Funktion war er maßgeblich an der Transformation der Organisation zu einem der weltweit führenden Anbieter integrierter Luftfrachtservices beteiligt. Außerdem arbeitete er eng mit der Schwesterdivision DHL Express zusammen und hat innerhalb des Konzerns einige wertvolle Synergien gefördert.
„Zunächst möchte ich Tom aufrichtig für seinen unermüdlichen Einsatz, sein Engagement für das Unternehmen und seine Verdienste um das Wachstum der Division danken. Unter seiner Führung hat unser Luftfrachtgeschäft neue Stärken und Höhen erreicht. Wir wünschen ihm alles Gute für die Zukunft und freuen uns, dass er uns bis zu seinem wohlverdienten Ruhestand weiterhin mit seinem profunden Fachwissen beratend zur Seite stehen wird“, so Tim Scharwath, CEO von DHL Global Forwarding, Freight.
Die Nachfolge steht bereits fest
Der ausgewiesene Branchenkenner wird in seiner Rolle als Executive Vice President von Max Sauberschwarz abgelöst, der derzeit die Position des Senior Vice President Global StarBroker, der Luftfracht-Charter-Organisation von DHL Global Forwarding, innehat. Max Sauberschwarz übernimmt die neue Aufgabe ab dem 1. Oktober 2023 und wird dann ebenfalls direkt an Tim Scharwath, CEO von DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, berichten. Im Zuge seiner neuen Funktion wird er außerdem Mitglied des Global Forwarding Management Boards.

In seiner vorherigen Position hat er nicht nur seine fundierten Branchenkenntnisse, sondern auch seine Führungsqualitäten unter Beweis gestellt. Max Sauberschwarz verfügt über mehr als 15 Jahre Erfahrung in der Logistik und hatte mehrere leitende Positionen im Luftfrachtsektor auf globaler Ebene, in Europa und Asien inne. Er kam 2019 als Senior Vice President Global StarBroker zu DHL Global Forwarding.

- Max Sauberschwarz, Senior Vice President, Global StarBroker at DHL Global Forwarding, appointed new Head of Global Air Freight
Bonn, August 10, 2023: DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of DHL Group, announces a change in its global leadership team. Thomas Mack, Executive Vice President Air Freight, will move into a new Senior Advisor role and continue to report directly to Tim Scharwath, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding. Following this, after a transition period, Thomas Mack will leave the company in October 2024 into retirement.
Thomas Mack has worked successfully in the air freight industry for over four decades. At DHL Global Forwarding, he joined five years ago as Head of Global Air Freight and was heavily involved in transforming the organization into one of the world’s leading providers of integrated air freight services. He also worked closely with sister division DHL Express, leveraging a number of valuable synergies within the group.

Under his leadership our air freight business has reached new strengths and heights. The Successor is Already Determined
The industry veteran will be succeeded as Executive Vice President by Max Sauberschwarz, who currently holds the role of Senior Vice President Global StarBroker, DHL Global Forwarding’s air charter organization. Sauberschwarz will assume the new role as of October 1, 2023, reporting directly to Tim Scharwath, CEO DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. In addition to this role, he will also become a member of the Global Forwarding Management Board.

Max Sauberschwarz has more than 15 years of experience in logistics and has held several senior management roles in the air freight sector on global level as well as in Europe and Asia. He joined DHL Global Forwarding in 2019 as Senior Vice President Global StarBroker.
