Extremely positive Trends continuing after the IPO. Sharp increase in customers and transactions. Munich, January 14, 2000. For Direkt Anlage Bank AG (DAB) in Munich, the 4th quarter of 1999 was the best since its inception. The number of customer securities accounts increased upto 130,000 customer by 31. December 1999. This is an increse of 65% in comparision to previous year and an increase of 28 per cent in comparison to the third quarter of 1999. The customer assets under management (deposits and securities) amounted to EUR 8.36 bn as at Dec. 31, 1999. In relation to the previous year this represents an increase of 121%. The total volume of customer securities as at Dec, 31, 1999 amounted to EUR 7,36 bn. EUR 2.9 bn of customer securities are being kept in the form of fund units.
The volume of transactions grew most strongly: In the 4th quarter, Germany's first full-service discount broker executed just under 840,000 transactions - 68% more than in the previous quarter. The average number of transactions per customer rose from 31 in the third quarter to 29 in the fourth. During 1999 as a whole, DAB executed a total of 2.24 million transactions. In 1998 this figure amounted to 1.387 million. An average of 64.4% of all transactions were executed online, and this tendency is increasing further. In the first three quarters of 1999, the average number of online transactions still amounted to 57%.
