Discount Broker now managing over 330,000 securities accounts - customers' assets in mutual funds amount to over EUR 5 billion
By the end of the third quarter of the year 2000, Direkt Anlage Bank AG (DAB), was managing 330,101 securities accounts, representing an increase of 36,889 accounts, or 12.6 per cent, on the end of the second quarter 2000 (number of securities accounts at end Q2: 293,212). In doing so, DAB continued on its growth course. The volume of customer assets (volume of securities and deposits) rose by 11.2 per cent. From EUR 11.6 billion in the second quarter 2000 to EUR 12.9 billion in the third. The volume of securities accounts climbed by as much as 12.9 per cent in the same period, from EUR 10.1 billion to EUR 11.4 billion. Of this sum, the volume invested by DAB customers in mutual funds amounted to EUR 5.1 billion for the first time, which was an increase of 18.6 per cent in comparison to the second quarter 2000 (assets in mutual Funds at end Q2: EUR 4.3 billion). The number of securities transactions executed increased by 11.7 per cent on the second quarter 2000, reaching 1,573,496 in the third (executed transactions at end Q2: 1,409,284). DAB executed a total of 4,427,295 transactions in the first nine months of the year 2000. This marked an increase of 219% year on year (executed transactions first nine months 1999: 1,385,287).
