init innovation in traffic systems AG has managed a successful start into the 2005 fiscal year, having achieved the best first quarter in company history. According to initial figures, its revenues are likely to have doubled as against the previous year. In the first quarter of 2004, the Karlsruhe-based specialist in telematics and fare collection systems for buses and trains had recorded sales of 3.6 million Euro. Due to sales developing at a highly dynamic level and the reduction of fixed costs achieved as early as in 2004, even the earnings (EBIT) of init will for the first time in company history be distinctly positive after only three months into the fiscal year. The target figures for both sales and earnings have thus been well exceeded in the first quarter. In addition to the sustained positive development in international business, the cause of this is found in a revitalization of demand on the domestic market. The full quarterly report for the first quarter of 2005 will be published in time for the shareholders meeting on May 11, 2005.
