Tool and gardening equipment manufacturer Einhell launched the new generation of PLUS surface pumps back in the spring of 2019. Six classic pumps and one cordless garden pump marked the beginning. This is now to be continued in the spring of 2020. Six further expert pumps will be added to the water technology range. Innovative features and safety mechanisms come as standard with all the pumps.
Watering the garden – made easy
Landau an der Isar, 13.02.2020 – Garden pumps are a great way to find an inexpensive and environmentally friendly solution for watering the garden. With the new Expert pumps, hobby gardeners can use water collected in water butts, cisterns or wells to water their garden.
With a power input of 1200 W, the garden pump GE-GP 1246 N FS delivers around 4600 liters of water per hour up to a height of around 50 m. The pump GE-GP 1145 ECO has a power input of 1100 W and achieves a delivery rate of 4500 l/h up to a maximum height of 48 m. Both devices can overcome a maximum suction height of up to 8 m.
The suction display on both models shows the suction height and the suction pressure at glance, as well as highlighting potential suction problems. The transparent housing around the prefilter shows if the filter is dirty and needs to be cleaned or replaced. Thanks to the generously dimensioned water filling screw, the pumps are easy to fill with water. With the aid of the water filling indicator, the user can read off whether and how much water has already been filled into the pump. A water drain plug is provided so that any residual water can be drained in order to protect against the risk of frost damage. The models are equipped with a thermal protection unit that automatically switches off the pumps before the motor can overheat. This protects the high-grade components and ensures a long service life for the pumps.
In addition, the garden pump GE-GP 1246 N FS is also continuously monitored with a flow sensor and is switched off automatically by the dry-running protection once no more water flow is detected. Similarly, a boiling prevention unit switches off the pump if there is a blockage on the high-pressure side, thus preventing the water that is left in the pump from getting too hot.
Water supplies – inside and out
The new Expert automatic domestic water systems GE-AW 1246 N FS and GE-AW 1042 FS are perfect for automatic water supply systems in the house and garden. In contrast to a garden pump, on which the power switch needs to be manually operated, the automatic domestic water system switches on automatically as soon as somebody takes water from a tap and stops again as soon as the tap is switched off.
4,600 or 4,200 liters of water per hour are pumped with a power input of 1,200 and 1,050 W respectively to a maximum height of 50 m or 48 m. Both models are equipped with a flow sensor, which continuously monitors the water flow.
The use of domestic water works makes good sense and is therefore particularly recommended for domestic water supplies. Service water is fed in via a water reservoir and can be used e.g. to flush toilets or for running the washing machine. Two new Expert domestic water works GE-WW 1246 N FS and GE-WW 1145 ECO with a power input of 1,200 and 1,100 W and a delivery capacity of 4,600 and 4,500 l/h respectively complement the existing range. The pressure vessel offers a capacity of 20 liters for both models, which means that the pump does not necessarily need to start up every time water is taken from a tap. An integrated pressure switch will activate the pump when the pressure drops and deactivate it again when the pressure returns to maximum. This means that the advantages of these pumps are not just their reduced wear, but also their lower electricity consumption.
As with the garden pumps, the domestic waterworks and automatic domestic water systems are equipped with suction, dirt and water fill level indicators and feature, depending on model, a thermal protection unit, dry-running protection and a boiling prevention unit for perfect protection against damage. Similarly, all models can also be drained via a separate water drain plug to keep the units safe from frost.
