Audi now offers WAP service
Ingolstadt (ots)
AUDI AG is now offering its own Internet information service for mobile phones - the first German car manufacturer to do so. This service, known as WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), can be called up at the address
http://wap.audi.de
from WAP-compatible mobiles. Here, mobile phone users can find out the latest company news and highlights. It is also possible to search for all Audi dealers throughout Germany. Users will soon be able to dial up the Audi pre-owned car database by mobile phone.
The WAP services "News" and "Highlights" are adapted to the special features of WAP mobiles. The information which appears in the mobile phone display is brief and clearly organised.
It is now also possible to search for the nearest Audi dealer by mobile phone: the user defines his or her search with the parameters postcode or city and, in return, receives the address and the telephone number of the required Audi dealer in the vicinity.
Audi will soon also be offering its extensive pre-owned car database in WAP format. Potential owners will then be able to use their mobile to find just the Audi they are looking for - all in their own good time, perhaps even while taking a stroll through the woods.
