Audi continues to prosper
Additional shifts to satisfy demand
Ingolstadt (ots)
Special shifts to cope with a special economic situation: Audi continues to defy the market trend. While the economic situation of the automotive industry is recessive in many markets, Audi has been able to make further increases. Although, for example, the overall passenger car market in Germany declined by more than six percent in May, Audi was able to increase its market share to 7.4 percent (6.8 percent). In order to make sure that new vehicles are delivered on time, Audi has agreed a total of 30 additional shifts for its both German plants until the middle of the year. Further special shifts are planned.
Dr. Franz-Josef Paefgen, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG will announce the interim figures for the first six months of 2001 at the 112th Annual General Meeting on 28 June in Ingolstadt.
Note to editorial staff: The speeches held at the Audi Annual General Meeting will be broadcast on the Internet. A satellite broadcast is planned for television corporations. The relevant technical data will be published tomorrow.
