6-month report
Hamburg, 14 April 2011 (euro adhoc) - SinnerSchrader continued its above-average positive development of business in the second quarter of 2010/2011 (1 December 2010 to 28 February 2011). Net revenues rose by 34 per cent over those of the previous year, to EUR 7.1 million. The operating result (EBITA) improved to EUR 0.5 million - around two and a half times the value of the previous year.
Although the record figures of the previous first quarter were not achieved due to familiar seasonal effects, the seasonal decline was not nearly as considerable as expected, since demand remained good in the largest segment of Interactive Marketing. Incoming orders in this segment even increased in the second quarter compared to the first quarter by 9 per cent and reached a level more than 50 per cent above the previous year´s level.
The considerable willingness of many companies to invest in expanding their online sales channel and the tailwind resulting from gaining new customers over the past nine months are the significant drivers of the good development of business. Sectors such as food retailing, which have hitherto tended to struggle with the Internet, are now focusing on online sales concepts. SinnerSchrader realised an online sales platform for REWE, Germany´s second- largest food retail enterprise, which ingeniously combined the special features of the sector and Internet opportunities.
SinnerSchrader acquired more clients in the second quarter, including a fashion brand gained for an outsourcing project in the Interactive Commerce segment which is due to start as early as in the first half of 2011. Moreover, in the quarter of the report, SinnerSchrader launched further growth initiatives with the founding of creative agency Haasenstein, the rollout of mementoo, a service offer for personalised retargeting in the media segment, and the takeover of two technically orientated agencies, Maris consulting GmbH and Visions new media GmbH, with 11 and 24 employees, respectively.
All in all, SinnerSchrader achieved net revenues of EUR 14.8 million in the first half of 2010/2011 - 31.5 per cent more than in the first half of 2009/2010. The operating result was doubled to EUR 1.7 million. The positive development is fully reflected in consolidated income, which also improved considerably to EUR 1.0 million or EUR 0.09 per share.
In view of the good development of business, SinnerSchrader now expects net revenues to amount to more than EUR 30 million for 2010/2011 as a whole. This corresponds to a growth rate of more than 25 per cent. Due to the Group´s growth-oriented business strategy EBITA forecast remains unchanged. EBITA is expected to improve by 15 to 20 per cent.
Despite the dividend payment in December 2010 and investments in acquisitions since 31 August 2010, the liquidity reserve grew in the first half of 2010/2011 by around EUR 0.26 million to EUR 8.55 million as at the report date of 28 February 2011 thanks to a positive operative cash flow of EUR 2.0 million. The equity ratio was 58.7 per cent. On 28 February 2011, the SinnerSchrader Group had 369 employees.
