CAA and Cenit, two companies quoted on the Neuer Markt are entering into a substantial strategic co-operation which will focus on the m-commerce market.
This co-operation will make driver-friendly and fully integrated mobile services and office applications available for the car and the driver in the near future. Thanks to the very close co-operation between these two companies and the automobile industry, very high synergies and great growth potential are being created. This means (auto)mobile communication and information at any time and at any place.
CAA AG, a company quoted on the Neuer Markt, the market leader in technology for the development of driver information systems, and Cenit AG, the specialist for web-based server technologies, security and applications for the Internet, see through their co-operation an ideal complementation of one another and an outstanding positioning of their companies in a rapidly growing m-commerce and m-service market.
CAA AG's know-how lies in the development and implementation of complex integrated driver information systems on the basis of the CAA software platform. These systems provide a number of centrally controllable functions and applications. With the integration of the most recent standards in transmission technology - such as HSCSD, GPRS and UMTS - CAA makes today's and tomorrow's mobile communication possible in vehicles.
Cenit will deliver the complete infrastructure, the safety systems and the software platform for developing and operating m-commerce applications in the car. Another aspect of the co-operation agreement is know-how transfer and the delivery of basic technologies. In connection with this co- operation, an initial volume of sales in excess of EUR 5 million is expected. CAA and Cenit will rely on IBM e-business technologies.
