Karlsruhe-based WEB.DE AG, operator of the Internet portal WEB.DE and provider of e-mail and communication services, has entered into partnerships with over 30 companies within the scope of the announced eCommerce strategy. With immediate effect, the new service WEB.DE ShoppingGuide (http://shopping.web.de) provides partners, such as Otto, Neckermann, D2 Mannesmann, Lufthansa, myToys.de and Beate Uhse, with direct access to over 4 million WEB.DE users and 1.5 million registered WEB.DE customers.
WEB.DE AG sees significant additional sales potential in the future. In the current financial year, WEB.DE is striving towards generating an additional gross profit of around DM 1 million with this product.
For WEB.DE AG, these partnerships represent a sustained reinforcement of the eCommerce base within the WEB.DE portal. The new service underpins once more the approach of the WEB.DE team to regularly generate new sources of income with high profit potential in addition to existing sources of income.
